Concert Music

“Now and Then” is the first new Beatles song to hit #1 on the charts since “The Ballad of John and Yoko” was released in 1969. Originally started by John Lennon as a demo in 1977, the song was partially recorded by the remaining Beatles in 1996. Finally, in 2023 Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney came together to complete this iconic song. This arrangement preserves all the spirit of the Beatles’ recording while beautifully crafting a piece that is fun to perform and shows off every section of the band. The entire song is here, starting with a lightly scored first verse, to the upbeat chorus, through to the exhilarating coda. “Now and Then” pays tribute to the enduring legacy of The Beatles and is a must-have addition for any concert.

The arrangement provides opportunities for your ensemble to work on lyrical playing, softer dynamics, and blending long legato melodies with flowing eighth-note accompaniments. The original key of A-flat major is used which makes it perfect to accompany a vocalist.
